The Voter Registration Ministry is in full swing again.  Phillip Hawkins, Judy Brown, and Dorothy Tyler are committed to providing critical information and assistance to voters and potential voters.  With elections just two months away, please be reminded of the following opportunities and resources.

Registration 

The deadline to register for the November 7th election is the Monday of October 16th at 5:00 p.m.   After October 16th,  same day voter registration with Provisional Ballot voting will be offered at the Registrar’s Office.

Restoration of Voting Rights

If you have questions about rights restoration, contact the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Office at 804-692-0104.

Absentee Voting

Absentee voting by mail began on September 23rd.   The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 27th.

Early Voting

Early voting for the General Election will begin on Friday, September 22nd at the Norfolk Office of Elections.  Early Voting will be offered Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at our office.  In addition to regular hours, Norfolk sites will be open on Saturday, October 28th and November 4th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for early voting.

Norfolk is only offering one Sunday for Early Voting for Norfolk voters on October 29,  from 12 noon until 4 p.m. at the following Satellite Voting locations in Norfolk. 

·       Berkley Recreation Center 

·       Jordan Newby Anchor Branch Library 

·       Lamberts Point Community Center 

·       Mary D. Pretlow Anchor Branch Library.

Sister Judy Brown and Sister Dorothy Tyler will be available to offer rides to the Satellite Precincts after church for Norfolk residents who need a ride. 

The last day to vote early for the November 7th General Election is Saturday, November 4th at 5:00 p.m.

Same Day Voting

The General election for the Virginia Senate and the House of Delegates will be held on November 7, 2023.  Same Day registration with Provisional voting is available at your polling place on Election Day

Voting assistance is being provided for everyone of voting age to cast a vote in this election.  Ask us for help if you vote in a city other than Norfolk. 

OGBC Wants to Help

Each Sunday, between now and Election Day, after the morning service, the Olive Grove Voting  Ministry will be able to answer questions you may have.
